Why does acute MR, acute AR or tamponade select cardiogenic shock?

These presets automatically activate a severe low-perfusion phenotype.

Overview

Selecting acute severe mitral regurgitation, acute severe aortic regurgitation or cardiac tamponade automatically includes the simulator’s cardiogenic-shock state. This is how the program represents the severe structural emergency examples.

The label is a preset behavior. Tamponade is physiologically an obstructive shock mechanism; it does not become a primary myocardial pump disorder because it shares this low-output selection.

Removing the acute condition removes the automatically coupled shock selection when no other acute trigger remains. Other selected diseases and interventions may continue to affect the result.
