Controls & baseline vitals

Why do settings and measured numbers differ?

Controls describe inputs; tables and traces show the combined output.

Overview

A scenario starts with reference values, then receives rate, rhythm, filling, resistance, output, shunt and intervention effects. Most controls set a reference before those later effects. Table values are measured from the resulting synthetic waveforms.

Peak, minimum, end-diastolic and mean pressures are different measurements. Respiratory variation and large atrial waves can change the time average. A treated patient therefore need not show the same number as an untreated reference slider.

Use the relevant slider tooltip and Definitions, calculations & colour in the summary. Reset Vitals removes manual targets; Interventions Reset removes treatment effects; whole-simulator Reset clears both.
