Overview
All graded valve lesions offer three settings. Acute severe mitral and aortic regurgitation remain acute severe phenotypes. The setting changes loading, forward output, waveform contour, modeled leakage and the echo depiction while retaining the selected lesion.
These are illustrative severity endpoints rather than patient-specific diagnostic grades. Pulmonary resistance is not increased merely because a left-sided filling pressure rises. Layer pulmonary vascular disease separately when appropriate.
In Wiggers, Valve gradients shows the instantaneous driving pressure; Valve volumes reveals the current modeled regurgitant fraction and volume. For AS or MS, Gorlin / Hakki opens calculated areas and their inputs; use Inputs & limits to interpret discrepancies.
