Controls & baseline vitals

What do the systolic and diastolic sliders do?

Set reference arterial pressure and load; the monitor shows the resulting model.

Overview

Systolic and Diastolic in Baseline vitals set reference arterial pressure. Changes in mean pressure alter modeled systemic load; pulse-pressure changes also affect modeled forward stroke volume.

Other conditions, rate, rhythm and treatments are then applied. Significant tamponade retains its pressure/output constraints until the modeled obstruction is relieved. Mechanical support changes the meaning of the pulsatile component.

Manually changing BP releases a manual SVR target so two competing controls do not independently force the same arterial load.
