Severe Pulmonic Stenosis

RV systolic pressure is much higher than PA systolic pressure across the obstructed pulmonic valve.

Overview

Select Severe Pulmonic Stenosis under Clinical controls → Valves. The bold italic live label confirms the active selection. These are the preset’s teaching features; combined disease, rate and interventions can change the resulting numbers.

RV systolic pressure is much higher than PA systolic pressure across the obstructed pulmonic valve.

The preset RV–PA peak-to-peak systolic difference is 55 mmHg.

The RV upstroke reaches a high systolic pressure while PA pressure stays near normal.

The gradient varies with flow in the teaching model; it is not a Doppler instantaneous gradient.

Step by step

  1. Reset interventions if you want the untreated example.
  2. Select the condition and inspect the pressure summary and relevant waveforms.
  3. Pause for annotations; add one intervention or loading change to compare the response.
