High-Output Heart Failure

High-flow congested phenotype with low systemic resistance and elevated filling pressures.

Overview

Select High-Output Heart Failure under Clinical controls → Hemodynamic state. The bold italic live label confirms the active selection. These are the preset’s teaching features; combined disease, rate and interventions can change the resulting numbers.

High-flow congested phenotype with low systemic resistance and elevated filling pressures.

Reference CO 9 L/min, HR 100 bpm, BP 120/55 mmHg, wedge and LVEDP 25 mmHg.

High flow does not exclude heart failure: congestion coexists with low systemic vascular resistance.

No specific cause, shunt or ejection fraction is assumed. Mixed pump or valve disease can limit the resulting output.

Step by step

  1. Reset interventions if you want the untreated example.
  2. Select the condition and inspect the pressure summary and relevant waveforms.
  3. Pause for annotations; add one intervention or loading change to compare the response.
