Overview
The Fick panel starts in linked estimated-Fick mode. Oxygen values & calculation explains its assumed oxygen consumption, hemoglobin and saturation inputs. Linked arterial saturation follows the simulator’s oxygenation, including oxygen/PEEP changes; derived mixed venous saturation follows flow and simulated oxygen consumption. These are synthetic values, not blood-gas measurements. It is not an independent direct-Fick measurement.
Enter oxygen values switches to manual inputs. Those inputs update the Fick reading in the hemodynamic summary without changing the pressure model. Link to simulator returns to the linked example.
A dash can indicate absent forward flow, invalid input or a low-flow state that the fixed assumptions cannot support. Read the panel’s message; do not treat a missing estimate as zero output.
