Overview
Choose Off, Low, Medium or High for each drug. Infusion levels hold settled effects; loading is not modeled. They are not doses or a timed drug-clearance model. Drugs can be combined, and Reset clears them.
Propofol and midazolam reduce vascular tone; dexmedetomidine and fentanyl can slow the heart. Ketamine usually raises sympathetic activity, but severe shock can expose myocardial depression. The assumed response varies with preload, ventricular reserve, valve obstruction and other drugs.
These effects enter the shared circulation model: pressures, forward output, valve gradients, pressure–volume loops and pulse amplitude respond together. Sedation does not treat VT/VF or restore AV conduction; a captured ventricular pacemaker keeps its set rate.
Sedatives and opioids together can suppress breathing. Spontaneous respiratory rate and depth fall; oxygenation and pulmonary resistance can change. Controlled ventilation retains its set breaths. Pressure support needs a trigger and has no automatic apnea backup in this model.
Sedation for intubation or cardioversion does not itself trigger the critical banner. The comparison keeps the same rhythm and other therapies, then checks whether sedation causes a substantial new deterioration. Unsupported loss of breathing and contraindicated combinations still trigger warnings. This is an illustrative display policy, not clearance that a regimen is clinically safe.
