Intervention workflows
Effect levels, comparisons, mechanical support and warnings.
Are drug effects immediate and clinically timed?
Most controls show illustrative effect endpoints rather than pharmacokinetic time courses.
How do antiarrhythmics, cardioversion and defibrillation work here?
Use Rate & rhythm for drugs and Electricity for shocks.
How do I apply and compare an intervention?
Choose its group and effect level, then inspect the linked response.
How do I apply temporary transvenous pacing?
Open Electricity and select 45, 60, 80, 100 or 120 bpm.
How do I demonstrate early or late balloon inflation?
Select IABP, then choose early, on-time or late inflation.
How do I demonstrate pericardiocentesis?
Open Procedures and select Drain effusion.
How do I inspect the Valsalva response graph?
Choose a Valsalva phase and pause to reveal the aligned response graph.
How do I open the ventilator?
Click PLETH or its live waveform. Select Intubation or NIPPV to connect.
How do I relieve tension pneumothorax?
Select Chest tube → Decompress under Procedures.
How do I remove treatments without changing the disease?
Use Reset in the Interventions toolbar.
How do I use V-A ECMO and the Impella models?
Select device flow in Mechanical support and inspect the native/device contributions.
How do sedative infusions affect the simulator?
Interventions → Sedation offers five agents with Low, Medium and High infusion effects.
How do the experimental valve procedures work?
Open Experimental at the bottom of Interventions; procedures are grouped by valve.
What does “Intervention has resulted in further instability” mean?
The model detected worsening or a dangerous selected interaction.
What should I compare before and after treatment?
Use flow, pressure, rhythm and congestion together.
