Intervention workflows

How do the experimental valve procedures work?

Open Experimental at the bottom of Interventions; procedures are grouped by valve.

Overview

Aortic contains TAVI and Aortic valve prosthesis; Mitral contains Mitral clip and Mitral valve prosthesis; Tricuspid contains Tricuspid clip and Surgical tricuspid valve. Choose Off or Treated. Each valve has one treatment at a time; different valves can be treated together.

These are idealized successful-treatment endpoints. The diseased valve contour and pressure burden change, while coexisting myocardial, pericardial, pulmonary vascular or shunt disease remains. Manual loading, rhythm and other interventions continue to act. The untreated PV loop remains for comparison.

TAVI currently requires severe native AS. Prosthesis examples use tissue valves; mechanical-valve management is not modeled. Clips do not treat stenosis: applying a clip in severe stenosis demonstrates further obstruction. With no matching lesion, no artificial benefit is applied.

Experimental describes this model, not whether the real procedure is established care. Anatomy, procedural eligibility, residual leak, recovery time and complication probabilities are not simulated. Pause for the individual procedure reference, and open Interactions for the current response.
